As celebrations shift to resolutions, we’d like to take a motivational cue from one of our favorite local inspirations.
Calgary’s own Bryce Stephens knows a thing or two about following through. As President and founder of custom luxury homebuilder, Stephens Fine Homes, it’s part of the job description. As a first-time “Man of Movember”, it’s a distinctly personal mission. At last count, Bryce Stephens’ individual fundraising total for the 2013 men’s health campaign is $14,580- and he’s still accepting donations HERE.
Not so incidentally, that’s close to 150% of Stephens’ original goal. It’s also enough to earn him a rank of 29th on the Canadian Individual Leaderboard. As in: 29th out of 173,440 national registrants – and only about $10k away from a Top Ten finish. For a “1st Year Mo”, that’s a pro Bro result. Put in broader context, that stat stacks up even more impressively. Consider:
A.) #1 Fundraising Country (2013) = Canada
B.) Top 3 Fundraising Individuals = Canadian
C.) 4/5 Top Fundraising Teams = Canadian
D.) 2/3 Top Fundraising Networks = Canadian
E.) Top Global Fundraisers Overall= Canadian Students
With stiff upper lip competition like that, Bryce Stephens’ Mo has a lot to be proud of. Top of the list? The incredible generosity of his Movember donors. With every dollar raised in Canada staying in Canada, that adds up to over 31 million thank-yous owed, last year alone.
Congratulations, Mr. Stephens. You’ve earned #1.
